1900s Fashion
Women
Around this time became the end of the Victorian fashion era. Blouses paired with skirts became more popular than dresses due to women becoming more active. Skirts were bell shaped, tightly hugging the hips, and flaring at the bottom. Skirts for both day and evening were longer at the back to form a train. Blouses were frilly and puffed over the chest and fitted at the waist. Corsets were still very tight. Dresses made the S effect where the back was arched inward and the skirt flared outward at the waist. Large hats were common.
